Well, I enjoyed it.

It takes some patience, but it's an RPG, so that's expected (in other words, don't listen to the haters).

I do have a suggestion however minute:

-maybe have the option, or just plain switch to keyboard controls... after awhile, it was a pain to have to keep manuveuring with the mouse, same with in battle.

Other than that, entertaining enough that I've been at it longer than I should have. Cheers.

GreenCastle responds:

I'm going to take this space to address your concern which is a common one.

THERE IS A REASON FOR ARROW KEYS NOT BEING USED FOR MOVEMENT IN THIS GAME.

RPG stands for Role Playing Game. You are playing the role of GreenCastle, who is a rook, and moves like a rook (laterally). In most games with arrow keys, players can 'simulate' diagonal movement by hitting, say, the up and right arrow keys intermittently (or in some cases, at the same time).
I wanted to take this away from the player in order to enhance the experience. I knew I would get hell for doing this - and I am - by the hard core gamers on NG who insist on using arrow keys to move in games, but I stand by my decision.

All the people who have complained about this, I'm not ignoring you. I take all my reviews very seriously because otherwise one cannot improve.

Bad ass concept

Definitely something original. Fun to play, too. Cheers.

GameBalance responds:

Thanks? kuku. I operate with 11001010, get max power!

That was adorable :)

Loved the choice of music, really playful, and went well with the graphics.

Such a simple concept, but it was really fun! My only qualm is there's no ending! The song stopped, and then I bounced really high and never came back down. :/

Great way to pass the time, though. :)

HotBabyBryan responds:

Thanx dude, fixed all the ending problems

Looks nice, but...

... having to replay the entire thing every time you fail is rather annoying, to the point where it's not worth proceeding. Having checkpoints would greatly improve upon the gameplay.

DoctorPongo responds:

The game is short and, believe me, it's not worth having checkpoints. But the next games will be longer, and I will consider your suggestion!

Arggh.

This was blammed... at least twice already.

Either make the improvements suggested, or STOP POSTING the stupid thing over and over again.

FilamentProductions responds:

I did make it better. It got blammmed because of a messed up link. I fixed that.

There it is.

Extremely simple concept, but it works. Nice gadget here :)

Chr0me responds:

hehe thanks

Potential.

You know collision detection. Congratulations. I think if you polished the graphics up and added more levels to this, it would get a decent score. I protected this anyhow, though... keep it up.

mr-a responds:

Thanks. I'm still new at this flash-coding-action-script stuff, but i'll try to fix up a few things if I can.

Child's play

That was buggy as hell. I'd shoot a guy in the foot, and he'd die, but when I'd split a guy's head down the middle, he'd still be able to shoot me. And calling the viewer "dumbass" when they don't get past the time limit (wtf is up with that, by the way) is rather ridiculous, and a big turn off.
As far as the graphics went, the people were poorly done, and the walls had no texture or substance. Gray. That's awesome effort, let me tell you.

Bottom line, clean it up, fix the problems, come back later.

PeteCook responds:

I'm gonna assume that you are an exception to all these people who seem to like my game. All I can say is that I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy it as much as them. The bug you mentioned was one of the bugs I explained in my comments. I'm not sure what went on though.

Interesting style choices...

I like how the perspective of the background changes as he goes closer and farther from the bottom, that was a neat effect. Liked the scenery, too... nice style choice. Wasn't too crazy about the characters, and the dialogue was kind of cheesy (though I guess that was the intended effect?). Nice programming, though... didn't see any bugs, I know that stuff's a pain in the butt to get right.

arrogancy responds:

Half of the dialogue was comprised of "in-jokes" ; making fun of classic video games, Flash animations, etc. Your appreciation of the dialogue is directly related with how well you know the stuff I'm referencing :)

Highly Addictive

At first, it looked pretty skimpy... but the longer I played it, and the more options I got, it became rather time-consuming. :)

One question... is there an end or do they just keep coming? I stopped after 900 kills, my hand was getting tired.

Asvegren responds:

Unlimited battle!!! :D
